British prosecutors are reviewing a file of evidence submitted by police concerning alleged sexual offences involving comedian Russell Brand, as they deliberate on whether to pursue charges against him.“We have received a file from the police for consideration regarding a charging decision in this case. Any decision to charge will be made independently, based on the evidence and in accordance with our legal standards,” the Crown Prosecution Service announced late Saturday.Detectives from London’s Metropolitan Police have conducted three interviews with the 49-year-old Brand in connection with “non-recent sexual offences.”“Our investigation continues and a file has now been passed to the CPS,” said Detective Superintendent Andy Furphy, who is heading up the investigation. “We have a team of dedicated officers providing specialist support to the women who have come forward.
