Pullman continues to feel Asian pull

The upscale line has plans to open at least 20 more hotels in China by 2026 and is well on its way to achieving that target.
Brand standings
According to the Accor group’s website, Pullman’s global portfolio currently stands at 146 hotels comprising 42,317 rooms, with sites across 41 countries.
However, on the brand’s individual site it lists 143 hotels, geographically breaking down as 70 in Asia Pacific, 26 in Europe, 19 in Oceania, 10 in the Middle East, 11 throughout the Americas and seven in Africa.
Immediate pipeline
Looking ahead, Accor states that the Pullman pipeline comprises 53 hotels representing 13,651 rooms, while THP’s database has records of 45 projects amounting to 12,359 keys.
Within our information, the majority of deliveries are scheduled for the next two years. 2023 will see at least 16 sites joining the brand’s portfolio, followed by a further nine in 2024. At the moment, the pace looks to slow further into the future, with just one opening planned in 2025, three for 2026 and one in 2027. The remaining 15 projects in the THP database have yet to be designated an opening date.
Asian pull
Our data shows that 76% of entries will appear in Asia, equating to at least 34 additional properties, far ahead of Africa in second spot with six sites. Oceania has three and Europe just two, with nothing planned for the Americas as far as we know.
Individual country count is topped by China, with at least 22 sites on the slate, which, if all projects come to fruition, would already surpass Accor’s 20 hotel Chinese target by 2026. In a distant second is Vietnam with four additions, with the Philippines just behind on three.
The only cities with multiple developments planned are China’s Wuhan and Meishan, alongside Philippines capital Manila, all with two apiece.

Ones to watch
Two recently-signed sites to keep an eye out for are Pullman at Tianfu New Area in China and Pullman Sydney Penrith in Australia.
The Chinese hotel development will appear in biomedical innovation hub Tianfu International Health Town, in the vicinity of Chengdu. The 150-key site is planned to open in 2025, after construction by Sichuan Yuanzhong Health Wellness City Real Estate Development Co Ltd and Yutai Real Estate.
The five-star Australian addition is the result of an agreement with Panthers Group for a new hotel at rugby club Penrith Panthers’ precinct in western Sydney. Scheduled for Q4 this year, the upper upscale 153-room property forms part of Panthers Group’s transformation of the precinct to create a state-of-the-art business and entertainment destination.
