Italy: LVMH Hospitality Excellence has agreed with Sardegna Resorts S.r.l., owned by Qatar Investment Authority, to manage the Hotel Romazzino and Hotel Pitrizza in Costa Smeralda, Sardinia.
LVMH Hospitality Excellence belongs to the luxury group LVMH Moët Hennessy – Louis Vuitton. The group’s portfolio spans wines and spirits, fashion and leather goods, perfumes and cosmetics, watches and jewellery, as well as selective hospitality.
Hotel Romazzino will be managed by LVMH brand Belmond. The hotel will undergo a rebranding before reopening in 2024 as Romazzino, A Belmond Hotel, Costa Smeralda. It is located on the beach of Spiaggia Del Romazzino.
It marks the ninth property in Italy for Belmond, which currently operates eight hotels and the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, A Belmond Train.

Hotel Pitrizza will be managed by the LVMH brand Cheval Blanc. The hotel will continue to operate under its current name until 2026, when it will be rebranded as Cheval Blanc Pitrizza, Costa Smeralda, following the completion of the renovation works.
All employees will remain employed by Sardegna Resorts S.r.l., which will also retain ownership of the hotels’ property and businesses. Hotel Romazzino and Hotel Pitrizza are currently part of Marriott’s Luxury Collection.
Sardegna Resorts S.r.l. is a Smeralda Holding company, of which Qatar Holding Smeralda Investment S.r.l. is the sole shareholder. Qatar Holding Smeralda is an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Qatar Investment Authority.
