Kolpin Hotels, led by CEO Karim Nielsen, is thrilled to announce the launch of its new brand, Roberta’s Society, a high-end yet accessible hybrid hotel concept in Aarhus, Denmark. Set to open in a repurposed 1934 library, the brand will offer an innovative blend of hotel and hostel amenities, appealing to a broad demographic. With 455 beds across a mix of dormitories, double rooms, and mega dorms, Roberta’s Society is designed as a social hub for travelers, students, and locals seeking a lively, art-infused atmosphere that fosters community and creativity.
Inspired by Kolpin Hotels’ low-key luxury ethos, Roberta’s Society will focus on integrating art, culture, and activities into the guest experience, creating a unique environment where individuals can come together to live, work, and connect. The brand aims to attract young professionals, students, and tourists alike, with spaces designed for co-working, affordable dining, and social gatherings. By merging the relaxed ambiance of a hostel with the comforts of a 3-star hotel, the new brand embraces the global trend of hybrid accommodations, catering to both short and long-term guests.
Creative Director and Owner Alexander Kolpin emphasized that Roberta’s Society will honor the heritage of the library’s 1930s architecture while updating it for contemporary needs. He envisions the space as an experiential destination for local artists, students, and travelers—a place where people can enjoy the unique fusion of history and modern design. This latest addition to Kolpin Hotels, known for luxury properties like Hotel Sanders, represents a new chapter in the brand’s expansion, further positioning Aarhus as a center for innovation and culture in hospitality.
