Nevis is planning a new push to court meetings and incentive travel.
The Nevis Tourism Authority has appointed Shelisia Glasford as the new Director of VIP and MICE Services, a leadership role created to enhance the island’s appeal to high-value travelers and establish Nevis as a premier destination for meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions.
In this position, Glasford will oversee the planning, coordination and hosting of VIP visits and MICE initiatives, focusing on strategic partnerships, international promotion and hospitality experiences that reflect the warmth and charm of Nevis.
Her career in luxury hospitality began in 2011 at The St. Kitts Marriott Resort and Royal Beach Casino, and since then she has built an international portfolio with positions in Switzerland, the United States and Australia. At Park Hyatt St. Kitts, she held a series of leadership roles, including Assistant Guest Experiences Manager and Executive Housekeeper. Most recently, she was Duty Manager at Park Hyatt Sydney, where she refined her skills in guest relations, operations and cross-cultural leadership.
Glasford studied at César Ritz Colleges Switzerland and Les Roches Spain, with a focus on international hospitality management and international business in hotel and tourism management.
“We are delighted to welcome Shelisia Glasford to this important role,” said Premier of Nevis Mark Brantley. “Her wealth of international experience and passion for excellence are exactly what Nevis needs as we continue to grow our tourism sector and position our island as a premier destination for discerning travellers and world-class events.”
Pamela Martin, Board Chair of the Nevis Tourism Authority, said Glasford’s appointment represents a new chapter for the island. “Her track record of innovation, leadership and dedication to delivering outstanding guest experiences will be instrumental as we elevate our VIP and MICE offerings and strengthen our global presence.”
