UK: Luxury lifestyle brand 1 Hotels has opened its first European property, 1 Hotel Mayfair, in London.
Located on Berkley Street overlooking Green Park, the 181-room 1 Hotel Mayfair features a restaurant, bar, cafe, a wellness area, and event space.
The building has been redeveloped to BREEAM Excellent standards with 80 per cent of the existing structure reused and repurposed. More than 200 plant species and 1,300 individual plants can be found across the property, and all guest rooms feature moss walls.
Dovetale, the hotel’s main restaurant and garden terrace, is led by two-Michelin-starred chef Tom Sellers. The restaurant is joined by the adjacent Dover Yard cocktail bar. A third F&B venue Neighbours transforms from a cafe during the day into a bar in the evening.
The wellness area spans the first floor of the eight-storey hotel. It will house a Bamford Wellness Spa which is due to open in late August with three treatment rooms. Additional facilities include a relaxation area and a gym.
1 Hotels launched in 2015 and now has properties located in Miami South Beach, Manhattan Central Park, Brooklyn, West Hollywood, Sanya, Toronto, San Francisco, Nashville and Hanalei Bay.
In addition to the London opening, the brand is expanding with properties under development in Austin, Cabo San Lucas, Paris, Copenhagen, Elounda Hills (Crete), Riyadh and Melbourne.
